'Modern Family' Cast Prepares Emmy Fashion and Acceptance Speeches
Boasting an impressive 14 Emmy nominations, the cast of "Modern Family" has a lot of planning to do for the August 29 awards show. What red carpet styles can be expected? Are the actors planning on winging their acceptance speeches or are they already hard at work with a pen and paper? ET got the latest from the actors at a table read of a new episode of this groundbreaking show. Ty Burrell has his outfit picked out for the biggest television event of the year. "I am wearing nothing but a beer hat," he teased. Costar Julie Bowen is relaxed about the issue and is waiting for a gown to come her way, saying, "I'm sure the dress will appear by magic." She's taking the same approach to her acceptance speech should her name be called up to the podium. "Absolutely, under no circumstances would there be any planning," she said with resolve. Ty is torn between the two options--to write or not to write. "First of all, I don't win things, so I wouldn't prepare a speech, but then my worst nightmare in the world is that the one in a gazillion lottery ball lands and somehow I were to win, I'd be up there looking like a horse's patootie," he worried.
ABC Denies Whoopi Goldberg Hit 'Real Housewife' on 'The View'
"Real Housewives of D.C." personality and alleged White House party crasher Michaele Salahi claims Whoopi Goldberg hit her on Wednesday's "The View," but ABC calls Salahi's accusation "completely unfounded and erroneous."
The network says that during Salahi's appearance on the talk show, "Whoopi lightly touched Ms. Salahi to get her attention and said to her, 'Excuse me, can you get back to the White House, please?' -- meaning could Ms. Salahi return to the original subject of the conversation."
"After the show, Ms. Salahi and her husband accused Whoopi of hitting Ms. Salahi. As the broadcast clearly shows, the accusation was completely unfounded and erroneous. After the show and after being told she was being accused of hitting Ms. Salahi, Whoopi proceeded to defend herself verbally from this baseless claim in a heated exchange with the Salahis."
